Contrast Therapy and Recovery

Pair infrared sauna sessions with hot or cold immersion to create a personalized temperature-based wellness routine.

• Post-exercise recovery: Cold-water immersion may help reduce perceived muscle soreness following strenuous exercise.

• Circulatory responses: Heat and cold produce different vascular responses, including changes in blood vessel dilation and constriction.

• Relaxation: Warm-water soaking and sauna sessions provide opportunities to unwind and relax.

• Flexible temperature options: The Alta allows you to select cold or warm immersion without requiring separate tubs.

• Full spectrum infrared heat: The Finnmark FD-2 combines long-wave and short-wave infrared heating technologies in one sauna.

Research on contrast therapy varies by protocol, and alternating hot and cold exposure has not consistently demonstrated greater recovery benefits than cold-water immersion alone. Individual results depend on the temperature, duration, and sequence of exposure.

Installation and Care

Alta Hot and Cold Plunge: Confirm electrical requirements, access clearances, drainage provisions, and floor support before installation. Follow manufacturer instructions for temperature settings, water treatment, cleaning, and routine maintenance.

Finnmark FD-2 Infrared Sauna: Confirm available space, electrical requirements, ventilation, and installation access before assembly. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for operating temperatures, cleaning, and maintenance.

Use hot and cold exposure appropriate to your experience and health circumstances. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use if you have cardiovascular disease or another condition that could increase your risk from extreme temperatures.
